Scarborough RUFC grabbed a dramatic last-gasp draw with Old Brodleians thanks to a late try from skipper Tom Ratcliffe.
The Seasiders went ahead through an early Tom Harrison penalty but soon found themselves 14-3 in arrears as they conceded a couple of soft tries.
A brace of penalties from Harrison cut the deficit to five points at half-time, and Ratcliffe’s first touch down of the game levelled things up at 14-14.
A couple more tries from Old Brods, one converted, saw the visitors pull away at 26-14 but another Harrison penalty and Ratcliffe’s second touch down gave Scarborough hope as they closed the gap to two points at 26-24.
The visitors bounced back once more with their fifth try of the match, but a storming Scarborough finish saw Ratcliffe complete a remarkable second half hat-trick and Harrison converted to grab an unlikely and hugely entertaining 31-31 draw.
