Scarborough RUFC lost out 39-22 at Yorkshire One leaders Bradford & Bingley, the hosts needing a late surge to defeat Lee Douglas’ determined team.
Scarborough raced into a 19-point lead inside the opening 12 minutes, as tries from Ant Coffey, Matty Young and Wesley Langkilde had the previously unbeaten league leaders reeling.
The hosts slowly took a foothold in the game hitting back with three tries of their own and a Tom Harrison penalty was all that separated the teams at half-time.
The visitors started the second half quickly and captain Tom Ratcliffe was halted agonisingly close to the line.
From that point on it was all Bradford & Bingley who ran in 20 unanswered points to run out deserved winners 39-22.
