Silver royd aim for bonus point

SCARBOROUGH RUFC will be on the hunt for bonus points when they tackle Yorkshire One rivals Ilkley at Silver Royd on Saturday.

Dave Beck’s men have been on a fine run of form at home recently, and will be looking to continue that sequence of wins with a convincing performance against their visitors from West Yorkshire.

Wing ace Paul White continues his return from injury for the game against a side who were relegated from North One East last term, and is looking for his side to run in a top notch effort.

He said: “It will be a tough game but we’ve been good at home recently and hopefully we can keep it going on Saturday.

“It would be great to get some momentum for the Malton game at home the following week and run in a bonus point, but we’ll go into the game expecting a tough test.”

Kiwi Matty Jones makes his return to the starting line up at tight head prop, and he is delighted to be given the chance to stake his claim for the spot. He said: “The tight five have been playing well and there is good competition for places at the moment, which is good.

“Hopefully I can put in a big performance and make that spot my own.”

The aggressive Phil Stewart returns to fly-half, with Marcus Edwards back in the side at centre.
