The Scalby Road venue hosted the clash in 2012 and 2014, both games attracting a bumper four-figure crowd.

Despite Yorkshire suffering defeats on both those occasions, Scarborough RUFC chief executive Graeme Young is hoping the fixture will attract another big turnout.

“We’re honoured to be handed Yorkshire’s third straight Roses derby in what will be their only home game of the year,” said Young.

“They have changed their coaching set-up and are taking this game very seriously, so hopefully the result will be slightly different, but everything off the pitch will go as well as the last two occasions.”

The club are expecting former England and British Lions legend Bill Beaumont to be present on the day, while recently-sacked England coach Stuart Lancaster may also be in attendance.

Young added: “It will be another great day for the club.

“We’re thrilled to be asked to host the game again.”

There will be a corporate hospitality tent up on the day, with tickets costing £45, which includes a four-course meal and post-match buffet.
