SIMON SMITH: It's crunch time for our season

We head into what is a huge week for the club, starting with a massive game at Keighley.

It is very simple, we need to go to Keighley and just worry about winning and everything else will just take care of itself.

We’ve had a superb season to date and what we do over the next couple of weeks will shape how we remember it as a campaign.

These are the games that you remember as a player, coach or spectator - the games with a huge amount riding on them like Saturday.

For me, if Heath somehow manage to beat both Middlesbrough and York on the back of a draw with York, they deserve to go up and good luck to them.

Will they manage that? Who knows. All we can do is control our performance at Keighley, which is always a tough place to go.

If we go there and perform then I believe we will win, and hopefully we can get the bonus point too, which would put us in a very strong position.

We have two huge games in the next week that could then bring about another two huge games.

If we finish second in Yorkshire One then we’ll still have a huge task on our hands to get promoted.

We’d have to travel away to the second-placed team in Durham Northumberland One, and that wouldn’t be an easy proposition.

It’s great that we have managed to arrange our Yorkshire Shield semi-final against Beverley for Wednesday night under the floodlights at Silver Royd.

It will be great to play such a big game under the lights, with hopefully a big crowd in at Silver Royd.

If we can put in two big performances and come away with two wins, that’ll give us a big chance to set up two massive games for the club.

The only player who misses out for us at Keighley is Billy Parker, who is unavailable for selection.

Other than that we are ready and raring to go for what is a big week for Scarborough Rugby Club and everyone involved.
