Scarborough’s leading try scorer Tom Ratcliffe was happy to switch roles during his side’s 37-34 home win against Yorkshire One basement club Huddersfield YMCA on Saturday.
Ratcliffe shone once again, despite having to move from the wing into the centre when Paul White left the field with a re-occurrence of an ankle injury midway through the first half of the game at Silver Royd.
He said; “It isn’t too difficult moving position during the game because we often swap positions in training.
“In any case playing centre is not alien to me as I’ve played there before.”
On switching from Rugby League and being top try-scorer this season Ratcliffe, who scored the second try in Saturday’s win, said: “It’s not too difficult having experienced ex-Rugby League players like Craig in the team and as for scoring tries, finishing is pretty much the same in both codes.
“To see us conceding as many tries as we are at the moment is really disappointing but we have been working hard on it in training and we’ll continue to do that. We really must close out games. ”
He concluded: “I’m really enjoying it here and the facilities are just outstanding.”
