Coach Lee Douglas has named new Youth Development officer Graham Hogg and Kiwi Loni Loni as his centre pairing in a new-look side following departures from the club at the end of last season.

With new club captain front-rower Matty Jones not due to arrive at Silver Royd until the 27th of the month a re-jigged front row of Alessandro Zavatti, Ian Williams and Jordan Day have been named.

James Leach and Mikey Readman are in the engine room with youngster Ryan Fowler making his first-team debut in the back row with Drew Govier and Isaac Faamau.

Tom Harrison returns from injury at fly-half to pair up with Jordan Wakeham and Tom Ratcliffe, Matty Young and Graeme Jeffrey will make up the back three. Joe Lenton, Mark Hopper and Andy Rossol are on the bench.

Due to holidays and other commitments the Seasiders had to field mixed-ability squads in their pre-season games with Pocklington and Driffield conceding an aggregate of 80 points across the games.

However due to the composition of the sides I don’t think much store should be set by the results and I expect a far more competitive performance from tomorrow’s Scarborough line-up.

Selby only managed to stay in Yorkshire Division One with a controversial injury-time penalty in the final game of the season against Scarborough last April to win 33-31, the latest in a string of high-scoring games between the clubs over the last few seasons at Selby’s Sandhill Lane ground.

This was in contrast to Scarborough’s 21-0 win in the opening game of the season against the same opposition at Silver Royd.

Tomorrow’s game kicks off at 3pm and a coach will leave Silver Royd at 11.30am; to book ring 01723 357740.

With the Vikings not in action, there will be no rugby at Silver Royd.
