Next Friday’s reunion, which sees the current first-team squad receive their shirts for the season, preceeds the first game of the campaign against Selby the next day on Saturday September 5.

There will be a tag rugby tournament including eight teams, before a selection of former players aged over 65 will receive club ties from Nigel Wilson (pictured right).

Following the handing out of the ties, Wilson will be presenting the first-team squad with their shirts for the coming season.

Organiser Barry Beanland said: “A number of the first team players this season have come through the ranks at the club, so I thought it would be good to get Nigel to present the ties.

“We have to mention the work Keith Marshall did over the years with several of the players who are now forcing their way into the first team.”

Former first team player Duncan Bull, who played for the club in 1985/86, will be travelling from New Zealand to be at the event, while Beanland is also expecting many others to travel from afar to re-unite with some of their former teammates.
