Shaw Pickard races to festive Paragon time-trial victory

Scarborough Paragon Cycling Club held their Christmas 10-mile time-trial on Boxing Day for riders looking to test winter fitness

On a cold morning 11 riders representing six clubs raced between Brompton and Seamer with Shaw Pickard of Paragon showing he has lost little form, winning in a 25mph plus ride of 23 minutes and 44 seconds, from Filey juvenile Cavan Walker (Clifton CC) in 25.22 and Matt Purnell (Paragaon) 25.27.

Arguably the ride of the day came from Tom Peacey, who was in the area visiting his parents from Switzerland, as he rode on a mountain bike to take sixth place in 27.44.

The next club event is the Paragon dinner and prize presentation on February 7 with tickets available from Mick Storey.
