They had an excellent win by eight rubbers to one against a young visiting team who gave a good account of themselves in difficult windy conditions on the Scarborough College courts.

Richard Stacey continued his unbeaten record so far taking three rubbers with new partner James Draper.

Newcomers Peter Budworth and Oliver Hillier started their first game with a clean sweep of three rubbers leaving Steve Brindle and partner Jon Conyers to take two rubbers.

This leaves the team with two wins out of three so far and a good start to their campaign.

Finally Filey men travelled to Flamborough with only two pairs for their Division Seven clash against the home B team.

They came away with a superb victory by six rubbers to three.

This meant both visiting pairs of Ray Roberts and Alex Waites and John Sellers partnering Kev Brown won all their rubbers.

Although turning out with two pairs can never be recommended it is better than not fulfilling the fixture and in this case ends up with a win for the understrength team.
