But Harrogate showed why they are the league leaders, by chasing down their total of 225 with 11 overs to spare at North Marine Road.

Things looked bleak for Scarborough when they slumped to 80-7, but runs from down the innings from Theo Smith (74) and Jack Holt (40) turned things around.

Nick Taylor (4-53) and Harry Stow (3-73) did most of the damage.

Smith was the last wicket to fall, when he was run out off the final ball of the innings, which give Harrogate a chance to take maximum points.

It was an opportunity they didn’t squander and opener Matthew Good proved immovable.

His second century of the season led the visitors to their 10th straight win. Good shared a partnership of 151 with Jonathan Tattersall, who made 61, as Harrogate stretched their lead at the top of the table to 15 points.

Driffield’s Ali Asad and Sam Drury also put on a match-winning partnership as they won at Acomb.

They came together at 22-3, but put on an unbroken stand of 169 to get Driffield over the winning line.

Jordan Caley had starred earlier in the afternoon, claiming 5-46 as hosts Acomb were all out for 187, Matthew and Joe Dale joint top scorers with 30.

But after three early breakthroughs by Tom Neal, Asad (63 not out) and Drury (104 not out) took over to see the job through.
