Tired youngsters in North Yorkshire urged to use Teen Sleep Hub service

Children and young people who are struggling with sleep issues are being encouraged to seek help.

The Teen Sleep Hub, launched by The Sleep Charity, contains links to twice-weekly live chats with professional sleep practitioners, top-tip videos for improved sleep and a downloadable ebook.

Meanwhile, families registered with a GP practice in Scarborough, parts of Ryedale and Whitby are also being urged to access free sleep support from The Sleep Charity as part of a pilot project commissioned by the former NHS Scarborough and Ryedale Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG).

Referrals are being accepted from families registered with one of the 12 GP practices in the former CCG area, together with those in the Whitby area.

NHS North Yorkshire CCG clinical chair, Dr Charles Parker, said: “As part of the pilot project set by the former NHS Scarborough and Ryedale CCG, there is professional help available through The Sleep Charity. Families can self-refer or speak to their GP.

“Referrals can be accepted from the 12 GP practices that were previously associated with NHS Scarborough and Ryedale CCG and those in the Whitby area, for children aged 12 months upwards, by telephone to Claire on 07568 052300.”
