Two car fires in space of 12 hours in Scarborough area

Scarborough firefighters were called to put out two cars on fire yesterday (Sunday January 31).

One was alight on North Street and crews believe it was caused by an electrical fault in the dashboard area.

The team, who were alerted at 8.23am, used a hose reel jet, foam and a thermal imaging camera to put out the flames.

Then at 8.21pm, crews was deployed to another car on fire in Wykeham.

They used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire, which caused extensive damage
