Tyres slashed as vandals go on damage spree in Scarborough

Tyres have been slashed and paintwork scratched in a spate of damage to vehicles in Scarborough.

The attacks happened on Gildercliffe, Briercliffe, Wreyfield Drive and Barrowcliff Road between January 26 and January 29.

In each case, tyres were slashed or a sharp object was used to scratch paintwork - or sometimes both.

Anyone who has had similar damage to their vehicle is being asked to contact police.

Officers are also keen to hear from anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage of these streets, or nearby, that thinks they may have captured anything suspicious.

Police have been conducting house-to-house enquiries as part of their investigation and have pledged to step up patrols in the area.
