Fire crews were called when a vehicle ended up in a ditch after skidding on compacted ice at about 11am yesterday in Kirby Misperton.

A local farmer helped three occupants out of the vehicle before crews arrived to tow the vehicle from the ditch.

Firefighters carried out first aid checks and an ambulance was called as a precaution.

A crew were later called to Westbourne Grove in Scarborough after a boiler fell off a wall causing flooding.

When crews arrived, shortly after 9.45pm, an engineer had already isolated the gas and water so no action was taken.
