Jason Rebello and Polly Gibbons to star at next year's Scarborough Jazz Festival

Scarborough Jazz festival celebrates its 15th anniversary next year and its director Mike Gordon is planning a special programme and has booked two musicians already.

The outstanding pianist Jason Rebello was one of the forerunners of the modern jazz resurgence of the 1990s and was signed to BMG records on a three-album deal.

He produced a further two albums by the end of the decade and toured extensively with his own band in the UK and internationally before he was invited by Sting join his band.

Rising star vocalist Polly Gibbons has also been confirmed. She is one of the most respected and talked about young singer/songwriters of her generation. Nominated for a BBC Jazz Award in 2006 with no album release to her name was a clear indication of just how special a singer and performer Polly is.

The festival runs from Friday September 22 to Sunday September at Scarborough Spa. Tickets from the Scarborough Spa box office on 01723 821888.
