Next stop New York for actress Elizabeth

Yorkshire actress Elizabeth Boag is off to New York after a stint in Scarborough with the new play Invincible.

The actress, born in Beverley and brought up in Pickering, where her family still lives, plays Dawn in Torben Betts’ culture clash drama.

The play, presented by the Original Theatre Company, is at the Stephen Joseph Theatre this week 01723 370541 and following other dates in the UK, it will be performed at the 13th annual Brits Off Broadway festival in New York from June 1 to July 2.

Brits Off Broadway is produced by 59E59 Theaters and aims to introduce new artists and new British theatre to New York audiences.

It has staged many of Scarborough playwright Alan Ayckbourn’s productions.

Artistic director of the Original Theatre Company, Alastair Whatley, said “I am delighted that after 13 years touring the UK, we have been invited to spread our wings and cross the Atlantic.”

Invincible is at the Stephen Joseph Theatre on Wednesday February 22 at 7.30pm, Thursday February 23 at 1.30pm and 7pm, Friday February 24 at 7.30pm and Saturday February 25 at 2.30pm and 7.30pm.
