Tribfest organisers cancel this year's event in grounds of East Riding's Sledmere House - this is when it is planned for now

The event in the grounds of the stately home near Driffield is usually held in August. It has now been rescheduled for next year.

It was Voted Best Entertainment and Leisure Venue in East Yorkshire 2018 -2020 (Best Bar None Awards) and finalist for Remarkable Tourism Event of the Year in 2018 and 2019 in the annual REYTA awards.

Tribfest,one of the largest tribute music festivals in Europe was launched in 2007 and is organised by Ed Faulkner, Ed Entertainments Ltd, and has been an annual event in the local calendar for 14 years.

Ed Faulkner said: "We have held off from making a final decision on this for as long as we could as we were hopeful that we could make something work for Tribfest 2020.

"Unfortunately, as time has gone on, and with safety as our priority it has become increasingly clear that we will not be able to deliver an event to our usual high standards. I am devastated that we are having to reschedule as I know how much Tribfest means to so many people across Yorkshire, the UK, and internationally.’

"It is also a great loss for the local area as it is estimated that Tribfest brings in more than £1 million into the area every year. With our event and most others having to reschedule there will be a really devastating impact on the local economy on a wider scale.’

"It’s a scary time for the entertainment industry and while we are extremely confident that Tribfest will continue to thrive, it is upsetting that we as a whole industry seem to have fallen through the cracks with regards to the government's financial support. We can only hope that this is recognised and rectified over the coming months."

With regards to the current ticket holders Tribfest have released a statement explaining that all tickets can be rolled over or a full refund will be given due to the exceptional circumstances.

"We are committed to providing all ticket holders who need a refund for whatever reason a full refund. However, we are asking people to roll their tickets over to our 2021 dates if they can. This will allow us to continue to grow and develop as a festival.

"We put this message out to our ticket holders a few weeks ago and the response was extremely supportive. We feel really lucky to have such a great fan base and we have been receiving so many positive messages throughout lockdown," said Ed.

Tribfest will now be held from Thursday August 19 to Sunday August 22 2021.
