Organisers Gold Soul said: "Regretfully, the July event has been cancelled due to latest Government guidelines.

"Although it has been suggested that bars/restaurants may be opening in July, local hotels have indicated they will stay closed.

"As you can imagine, this is a very trying time in the events sector and we are working hard to ensure safety guidelines are being met while anxious to please customers who are passionate about the long-running event.

"Whitby Pavilion is the home to Yorkshire’s original Soul Weekend since 2002 and we sincerely hope to see you soon once it’s safe to do so.

"For now, stay well, stay safe, feel good."
