A PHOTOGRAPH which was the result of a week-long labour of love has scooped the top prize in the Evening News Your Photos competition.
Mick O’Connell, of North Frodingham, near Driffield, spent a week taking photos of dripping water in his garage until he captured this stunning shot, titled “One Drop”.
He said: “I normally do wildlife photography, but the weather had been so bad that I set myself up in the garage instead.”
Mr O’Connell explained that he had used a bag with a small hole in it, which allowed a drip of water to fall every couple of seconds. He worked above a table top with studio lighting.
He said: “I worked on it every day for a week and I’m really pleased with the result.
“It’s completely natural with no Photoshop.”
Mr O’Connell was presented with a canvas of his winning shot by Stuart Killie of Photo Studio in Aberdeen Walk.
He said: “I love the print - I think the way they’ve done it is really good.”
Mr O’Connell added that he has been taking photos for around 15 years.
