Woodland photography competition

SCARBOROUGH photographers are being encouraged to get out their cameras and capture some inspiring images of their favourite woodland.

For the second year running, the Yorkshire Agricultural Society, organiser of the Great Yorkshire Show, is challenging people to celebrate the splendour of the UK’s woodlands and forests by taking part in a photographic competition with the theme “Seasons in the Woodland”.

People are being urged to head for their local woodland and take seasonal pictures.

The best 32 images will go on display in the Forestry Pavilion at this year’s Great Yorkshire Show, which runs from July 10-12.

Visitors to the show will be asked to vote for their favourite photograph, with the winners announced after the event.

The competition is split into two categories – juniors (up to and including 16-year-olds) and seniors (aged 17 and above).
