Sextet Blue Commotion play Scarborough Jazz at the Cask on Wednesday March 20.

Their vocalist Zoe Shwartz is a performing arts graduate who has made a big impact in a few years.

Although having wide experience in different musical genres, Zoe now concentrates on blues, ballads and jazz.

She has enjoyed successes at Ronnie Scott’s, the Vortex, the 606 Club and many venues throughout the UK.

Her guitarist Rob Koral has played with Jim Mullen, Django Bates and Bill Bruford. He’s appeared at Scott’s, the Barbican, the Royal Festival Hall and many festivals and clubs nationwide.

The Hammond organ is played by Pete Whittaker who is familiar to Scarborough jazz fans from his appearances with the Nigel Price Organ Trio.

Si Genaro is on harmonica and bass and drum duties are in the capable hands of Rodney Teague and Paul Robinson respectively.

The musical partnership between Zoe and Rob has been described as, “one of the most engagingly natural in jazz”.

Tickets are £10 and the music begins at 8.45pm.

Guitarist Ant Law is the guest at the club on Wednesday March 27.
