Dozens of schoolchildren will gather for the Big Sing event during Coastival: A Different View, in February.
More than 1,500 youngsters from more than a dozen primary schools in Scarborough, Whitby and surrounding areas will take part in the event at the Spa Grand Hall on February 15 from 1.30pm to 3pm.
Coastival – A Different View will be a celebration of the arts based around the theme of light. Lots of Scarborough’s galleries, cafes, churches and other venues have signed up for the event.
There will be special activities including music on Saturday February 16 then lots of things to see and do at various venues for the remainder of that month
Visitors can expect light shows, brilliant installations, stunning artwork, music for all tastes and much more.
Create director Wendy Clews said: “The Big Sing event at the Olympic torch concert was a great success – so much so that we are really excited to be holding something similar as part of Coastival.
“Children and young people have always been a vital part of every Coastival event and what is really pleasing for February is that they will be both performers and audience.”
One of the highlights is expected to be when striking images are projected on to the Spa.
