Comedians, tribute shows and pantomime in new Spa season

Comedy stars, family shows, tribute bands and a traditional pantomime make up the new season at the Spa, Scarborough.

The Scarborough Spa Orchestra also concludes its centenary celebrations with a gala concert with opera singer Lesley Garrett.

Comedians Rhod Gilbert, Chris Addison, Gervase Phinn and Paul Tonkinson are also among the stars heading to the venue.

Jo Ager the Spa sales manager said: “Our programme sees a great variety of shows which is complimented by some fantastic comedians. We are delighted to have Rhod Gilbert in the line-up which shows that the newly refurbished Grand Hall can attract some of the biggest names in comedy.”

Other highlights include Channel 5’s popular morning children’s show Milkshake! The all-singing, all-dancing live stage show stars Milkshake! favourites: Little Princess, Scruff, Noddy, Tessie Bear, Roary, Big Chris, Fifi, Bumble and B1 & B2 – the Bananas in Pyjamas.

A Rat Pack tribute night and a Michael Jackson celebration are just two of the music events on the programme.

The Scarborough Dance Festival celebrates its 15th anniversary at venue with a programme of modern and Latin dancing plus daily ‘learn and improve’ sessions and workshops.

Gervase Phinn’s show A Celebration of Christmas gets the countdown to the season under way followed by the Festive Spectacular hosted by look North’s Harry Gration.

This year’s Pantomime at the Spa is Mother Goose and will be once again be produced by Tony Peers Productions and sees the return of Ian Moore and Dale Ibbetson.

The Spa Orchestra sees in the 2013 with its annual New Year’s Day concert which this year is entitled Vienna City of Dreams.
