Coming out of the Shadows

Peasholm Parks Centenary celebrations will be echoing to the sound of Cliff Richard and The Shadows on Saturday 23 at 7.30pm.

Scarborough-based Shadows Music will be playing at a concert for The Friends Of Peasholm Park and will be joined by Shazam with some of its members travelling from as far away as Devon to play.

Also joining the two groups will be top Cliff tribute singer Ian Geast from Essex.

Ian Harper from Shadows Music lives lives across the road from the park. He said: “This is a special evening for us. I grew up on the North side and the park has always been part of my life.

“The Friends do a wonderful job helping keep the park looking like new so we in the bands are looking forward to doing our bit for the park.” His daughter Amy is also in the band

The Peasholm Park concert comes in the middle of a busy time for the two bands, They were in action at the annual Shadows Music Gala in Scarborough and followed this with their eighth 60s weekend at Levisham Station on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway.

Shadows Music will be back in action at Levisham at the Classic Car weekend on Saturday July 14.

The bands will as many hits as time allows – including Apache, Wonderful Land, Dance On, Kon-Tiki, Cavatina and Cliff hits with The Young Ones and Summer Holiday top of the list. Tickets available on the night.
