From hilarious histories in seaside castles to Dracula and other horrors – three is a feat of activities at English Heritage sites this summer

Hilarious History looks at the funny side of the Spanish Armada at Scarborough Castle on Saturday July 27 to Sunday July 29, daily from 11.30am to 4.30pm

Plus a medieval jesting duo provide merriment throughout the day.

Viking Invaders will be staged at the castle on Saturday August 24 to Monday August 26, daily from 11.30am to 5pm.

Dracula (& Knights & Princess School) will be at Whitby Abbey on Saturday July 20 and Sunday 21 and Saturday July 27 and Sunday July 28. Performances at 11.30am, 1.30pm and 3.30pm

Bram Stoker’s classic Victorian Gothic tale is brought to life with a cast of three actors promenading through the ruins of the Abbey, one of the inspirations for the author’s story. The tale begins with solicitor Jonathan Harkerjourneying from England to Count Dracula’s crumbling, remote castle.
