The Youth Support Service is running buses from both Scarborough and Eastfield to the CultureShock festival in Harrogate.
The event, Europe’s biggest festival for young people, happens every year celebrating youth arts and youth culture for all young people in North Yorkshire. Now in its 11th year, it will take place on July 23. There are still bus spaces left for young people from Scarborough for £10 return, which includes entry to the festival itself.
The event will be headlined by the Cut Up Boys, the Ministry of Sound DJs famous for their ‘mashup’ mix CDs.
CultureShock includes six performance spaces including a main stage, urban stage, theatre and circus performances just for starters and also includes a massive selection of workshops from graffiti, African drumming, street dance and so much more. Also appearing are Don’t Flop, the rap battle media channel receiving millions of YouTube hits, who are hosting two compliment battles as part of the Urban Village space.
CultureShock attracts around 4,000 young people each year with many claiming it to be their best day of their life and Scarborough traditionally takes 3 coaches of young people staffed by youth workers.
