The Scarborough Jazz Christmas party is at The Cask on Wednesday December 18 and it is giving you the chance to join in.

This is a party with the emphasis on music. The resident trio will back anyone who wishes to play or sing – regardless of experience.

Saxophonist Julia Wray will lead the trio for several number, then will be on hand to lend her professional expertise when required.

It is expected that brewer Tom Mellor will play his guitar, Dave Clarke will sing and Pat Brown will play her saxes.

A quintet so new that it has no name yet, will also appear. This has Sarah Dyson on alto, Andrew O’Connell on flute, Stuart Larnar on tenor, Jeff Coles, saxes and Rob Tyson McMahon also on saxes. Also, pianist Stan Lovell and music student Lawrence Marshall are invited to play.

As well as the music, there will be food, a raffle and a lighthearted music quiz. Doors open at 8pm and admission is £3.

To take part call Mike Gordon on (01723) 379818.

The Jazz Club will break for Christmas and will resume on January 8 with Derrick Harris on guitar.
