Talented young saxophonist Tom Harrison makes his first appearance for Scarborough Jazz at The Cask on Wednesday July 17.
Tom has toured the UK as both leader and sideman. He has played or recorded with Jean Toussaint, Julien Seigel and Gene Calderazzo to name just a few.
Tom began playing piano when he was five, adding oboe at seven. He started to study the saxophone at 18 and applied for the jazz course at the Leeds College of Music, graduating from there with first class honours.
His debut album leading the Dagda quartet was released last year with a lengthy launch tour subsidised by The Arts Council.
Tom has featured on national radio and TV and is currently studying for a masters degree at Trinity College of Music in Greenwich.
He will be backed by The Mike Gordon Trio.
Admission is £3 and the music starts at 8.45pm.
Octopus play the Cask on July 24 followed by James Lancaster and the Jazz Offspring of July 31.
Scarborough Jazz Festival is at the Spa from September 27 to 29.
