The Spa Orchestra returns to the venue for its annual New Year’s Day concert.
For nearly 100 years, major orchestras throughout the world have celebrated the New Year with a concert of Viennese music in a tradition which began in Vienna itself, the home of the great Strauss dynasty. The Spa Orchestra is no exception and starting at 3pm on January 1 its musicians will play an entertaining programme.
The Spa Orchestra promises an afternoon of memorable waltz melodies and toe-tapping polkas by the Strauss family, Franz Lehar and many other light music composers.
Called A Viennese Whirl, the musical programme will include the likes of Johann Strauss’s signature waltz The Blue Danube, along with polkas such as Thunder and Lightning, Lehar’s Merry Widow and much more.
In previous years, the Spa Orchestra’s New Year’s Day concert in the Spa Grand Hall has attracted audiences of up to a thousand people so early booking is strongly recommended.
Tickets are now on sale from The Spa Box Office on O1723 821888.
