MUSICAL youngsters at a Scarborough school are some of the best in the country – and they’re not blowing their own trumpet!
The students from St Augustine’s School showed off their talents at the Music For Youth Festival in Peterlee.
The senior choir, jazz orchestra and orchestra all impressed, with their place in the next round in Birmingham set to be rubberstamped by officials.
Teacher Oliver Barron said he was delighted with their progress, adding it continued the high quality of performances coming from the school.
He said: “The festival is probably the biggest in the country and there are thousands of pupils who take part.
“Our students did really well and got some extremely favourable comments from judges.
“The standard of the music from the pupils is just superb at the moment and everyone is loving taking part.
“That means we are all extremely busy but the students know that the more work they put in the more they will get out of it.”
