Members of the Spa Orchestra face a busy week – a gala concert, A Night at the Opera, leads straight into Three Tenors in the Park at Peasholm.

Appearing in both concerts will be the tenor Paul Badley.

Paul is delighted that he has once again managed to fit Scarborough into his busy schedule.

He has sung many roles in opera and concerts on both sides of the Atlantic and in the Middle East.

For gala night Paul will be singing a range of very familiar opera tunes such as Your Tiny Hand is Frozen and La Donne e Mobile .

Welsh soprano Ros Evans joins Paul for A Night at the Opera at the Spa Grand Hall on Thursday August 15 at 7.30pm.

No stranger to the venue, Ros brings her bubbly personality to the show, and sings some operatic favourites.

She has appeared many times with the famous Welsh National Opera, and has often sung at the Edinburgh Festival. Her concert tour of Australia was a great success.

When the Three Tenors take to the bandstand in Peasholm Park on Friday August 16 at 8pm, they will be wowing the crowd with a wide range of songs, a few great opera arias, some famous love songs, and even a group of numbers made famous by Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra.

All the popular Three Tenors’ songs will be included, such as O Sole Mio, Granada and, of course, the most thrilling three-voice performance of Nessun Dorma.
