New band plays in with Sinatra

Band leader Tony Turner is launching his new ensemble Northern Showtime Orchestra with Sensational Sinatra at the Spa, Scarborough.

The eight-piecer, which was called Jazz Legend, will be joined by Scarborough-based entertainer Richard Adams for the concert on Saturday August 25 at 7.45pm.

It will be the second time in a week Richard has played the Grand Hall – he will be singing swing standards with the Spa Orchestra on Thursdau August 23 at 7.45pm.

“Frank Sinatra’s classic repertoire has been lovingly transcribed from original recordings by our fantastic arranger Dave Clegg,” said Tony.

“The show will feature music, and history, from Blue Eyes’ earliest recordings right up to his final hits,” he said.

“And the orchestra features top-class players – we really do feel that this is a unique and special show.”

The life story of ‘Sinatrawill be re-told in a unique format incorporating words, live music and on-screen pictures.

“I love swing music and can’t quite believe I have opportunity to sing in the Grand Hall twice in same week – it feels special to perform with musicians of this quality,” said Richard.
