Phoenix Nights star Toby Foster is bringing his Last Laugh Comedy Roadshow to Scarborough.

The comedian who played one half of support band Les Alanos in Peter Kay’s sitcom will be at the Spa on Saturday November 24 and then on January 26, February 23 and March 15.

It features a compere who introduces three new comedy acts. “Toby said: “I’m really looking forward to taking the Last Laugh Comedy Roadshow to the coast. I hope the shows will entertain the people of Scarborough as much as it has in South Yorkshire and Derbyshire over the years.

“We are looking for people who want an evening of guaranteed laughter with some up-and-coming stars of the comedy circuit. Hopefully we can attract a whole new audience and I’m sure they will be a great crowd.”

Running of the Spa has been taken over by Sheffield International Venues. General manager Helen Broadbent said: “Last Laugh Comedy is an institution in Toby’s home county of South Yorkshire so we’re delighted that he will be sharing his comedy with the people North East coast.

“Bringing a name like Toby’s to the area highlights our commitment to creating a hub of entertainment for the town.”

Toby, who played Les in two series of Phoenix Nights and Max and Paddy’s Road to Nowhere, is the latest comedian to sign up at the Spa.

Rhod Gilbert is there on November 13 and Mock the Week’s Chris Addison takes the stage on February 2.
