Jazz singer Esther Miller brings her quartet to Scarborough Jazz at The Cask for a welcome return on Wednesday August 15.
Esther’s last appearance here was a total triumph, eliciting enthusiastic applause from a full house, said organisers. Such a reception is not unique to Scarborough, she earns it everywhere she sings.
Her jazz festival appearances are numerous and wide-spread, from Cork to Cape Town and Norway.
UK Festivals she has worked include Cheltenham, Swindon, Lockerbie, Cleethorpes and four appearances at the Birmingham International.
Esther’s performances at the nation’s jazz venues have garnered a fat dossier of positive press comment and she has released four CD’s which have been warmly received.
Naturally, such a fine singer as Esther attracts first class musicians.
For this gig, she brings the excellent pianist Steve Melling who has worked closely with her for more than three years.
On bass is Steve Berry and the wonderful Karen Sharp is on saxes.
The music starts at 8.45pm.
