Entertainers will ensure that Christmas celebrations get off to a cracking start this year!
YMCA Productions will kick off the festive season with its pre-Christmas show at its St Thomas Street theatre in Scarborough.
A cast of more than 100, ranging in age from eight to adult, will present A Christmas Cracker – a celebration of music, song, dance and comedy.
There will also be guest slots from Rowlies Academy of Dance, Yorkshire Coast School of Ballet and the YMCA’s Y-Musical Theatre School.
There will also be appearances from guest local singers, including Jamie Maughan, Maria McAdam, Chelsea Cooke, Andii Hosking, Katie Rattigan (Friday and Saturday), Rebecca Boag, Gillian Marshall, Conor Skelton, Stereo Jacks (Friday) and Katie Doubtfire.
Producer Graham Ibbotson said: “The show has become a very popular part of the YMCA Theatre’s calendar and everyone involved loves working on it, trying to create that special Christmas magic.”
“I am also hoping that Father Christmas will take time out of his busy schedule to pay a visit to each of the performances”.
“This year’s show promises to be a great festive variety show with something for everyone.”
The cast and team are all very excited to be setting off the Christmas season at the YMCA Theatre, with a fast-paced fun-filled festive spectacular.
“It is a heart-warming show which sees a coming together of the YMCA community, both young and not so young, working together in the true spirit of Christmas.”
The production has been produced by Graham and jointly directed by Rebecca Boag, singing coach), Katie Doubtfire, comedy and drama coach and Chelsea Cooke, choreographer.
A Christmas Cracker is on Friday December 4 and Saturday December 5 at 7.30pm and Sunday December 6 at 2pm.
Tickets are £8 for adults, £7 for concessions and £25 for a family (two adults and twoconcessions).
Party rates for 10 people or more are £6 per ticket.

The YMCA pantomime is Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. It opens on Boxing Day and runs until January 3 – no performances New Year’s Eve or New Year’s Day.
Rockin’ Carols is on December 7 and 8 at 7.30pm.
