Budding adult writers, aged 18 to 35 years, are invited to a free scriptwriting workshop at the Stephen Joseph Theatre on Saturday August 16

The session takes places from 2pm to 5pm and will be run by artistic director Chris Monks and associate director Henry Bell.

It gives a taster of the Write Stuff 2 course, ahead of the new term beginning in September, which is run by the theatre OutReach Creative Writing Tutor Ali Watt who will also be present.

The workshop is designed for younger adult writers and aims to create an innovative and friendly approach to scriptwriting with writing activities and exercises along with lively discussion.

No preparation or previous writing experience is needed - just bring a pen, paper and a desire to explore storytelling in script form.

Artistic director Chris Monks said: “The theatre has a massive commitment to developing and giving a platform to new writing.” Places are free and be booked in advance through the box office on (01723) 370541.
