The annual Books by the Beach gets under way in Scarborough next week.

It runs at various venues from Wednesday April 11 to Sunday April 15.

Broadcaster and writer Natalie Haynes is the first guest. Her event is Oedipus and Antigone – Greek Myths at Scarborough Library Concert Room on Wednesday at 10.30am.

Actress and script-writer Ruth Jones, of Gavin and Stacey fame, brings the festival to a close when she talks about her debut novel Never Greener at the Stephen Joseph Theatre.
