Comedy legend Jasper Carrott is to visit Scarborough Spa as part of his first stand-up tour in 16 years – playing the venue this winter.

The Brummie comic who is most famous for Carrott’s Lib and game show Golden Balls, hits the road with his Stand Up And Rock tour and will perform at the Spa’s Grand Hall on Wednesday November 18.

Jasper will team up with long time mate Bev Bevan, the drummer with ELO, Joy Strachan Brain from folk band Quill and The Move’s Geoff Turton and Trevor Burton.

Jasper said: “The idea came to me a few years ago. A show with a few of my talented mates that mixes my stand up and fantastic music.

“We put it out locally in Birmingham last year and everyone from the audience to the performers on stage had a brilliant time, so much so that we wanted to do it again and do a few more gigs.”

Jo Ager, the Spa’s general manager said: “Jasper is another great name to add to an already impressive bill of comedians this year.”

Stewart Lee is on May 15, and Alan Carr July 10. Tickets for Jasper’s show go on sale Friday March 27.
