Mermaids made a splash at the Sea Life Centre in Scarborough when water nymphs joined its residents for a swimabout.

The sea creatures were actually membes of the cast of Peter Pan on Ice whch is at The Spa this week.

The Mermaids, played by The Russian Ice Stars made a splash with a number of the centre’s inhabitants visiting and feeding the centre’s sharks, seals and stingrays.

Marina Chuvilyaeva, who stars in the production, said: ‘We have been travelling all over the world this year and Scarborough is one of the most beautiful places we have visited.

We enjoyed visiting our fellow sea creatures and we look forward to welcoming the people of the Scarborough to The Spa this week.’

The Russian Ice Stars will perform the story of the boy that never grew up at The Spa’s Grand Hall from this Thursday as the theatre’s stage is radically transformed into a professional ice rink.

There will be five performances at the Spa with three evening shows at 7.30p from Thursday April 10 to Saturday April 12 with matinee shows on Thursday and Saturday at 2.30pm.
