SCARBOROUGH’S Stephen Joseph Theatre has been given its just desserts thanks to a local cafe.

The owners of the Eat Me Café in Hanover Road, Stephen Dinaro and Martyn Hyde, have shown their passion for supporting the arts by introducing ways of raising money for the Westborough theatre.

New on the menu is the Stephen Joseph Theatre chocolate cake, all profits of which will go to the venue to support its work both on stage and in the community.

The café has recently introduced a corkage charge with proceeds also going to the theatre.

Ruth Puckering, head of communications at the Stephen Joseph Theatre, expressed her thanks. She said: “We are very grateful for the support of Eat Me Café, especially at a time when we have faced significant cuts in funding.

“I would like to thank Martin and all at the café for their generosity.”
