The YMCA stage sees the return of Scarborough Youth Theatre performing Remote and Seussical the Musical on Sunday.
Remote by Stef Smith has been written for the National Theatre Connections Festival which involves 270 youth and school theatre groups across the UK.
It is a play about protest, power and protecting yourself. Seven teenagers’ lives all intertwine over the course of a single evening.
Director Andrea Mortimer said: “This is a fantastic opportunity to be involved with the National Theatre. I’m so proud of our hardworking and talented cast and hope lots of local people will come and support them”.
The play will be followed by a free performance of the upbeat Seussical the Musical which is written around the stories of Doctor Seuss. It sees the imaginative journeys of Horton the Elephant, the Cat in the Hat and other colourful characters. “It’s an uplifting, feel good musical,” said director Janna Leith.” The event is at the YMCA Theatre, St Thomas Street, on Sunday at 7pm. Tickets for Remote are £7 from the box office.
