The Milkshake gang were back in town and in the party mood at a special show at Scarborough Open Air Theatre on Wednesday afternoon.
My daughters, aged six and three, and I settled into our seats in a somewhat sparsely populated arena.
This was a shame as this was a show that kept the youngsters happy for the full 90 minutes, though admittedly there was a 20-minute interval.
The production was based around the presenters of the morning show on Five attempting to put a surprise birthday party on for Milkshake Monkey, with the help of characters who appear on the childrens programme.
The musical entertainment put on by the performers was great for the children and based on either nursery tunes or popular songs from past and present.
The young fans were excited to see the likes of Bananas in Pyjamas, Little Princess and Scruff, Noddy and Tessie Bear, Bello from Jelly Jamm, Chloe from Chloe’s Closet and many more emerge to entertain the audience.
After the interval the party got going, with my daughters dancing away, in particular Macie, three, who was chuffed to bits when Pip from Pip Ahoy! appeared.
Thankfully the looming rainclouds didn’t crash the party, as the children were thoroughly entertained, great news for parents attempting to keep their children busy during the summer holidays.
The Milkshake gang are back at the venue on Sunday August 24 for a family fun day including favourites such as Peppa Pig, Bob The Builder and Angelina Ballerina.
Tickets are once again £10 and are available from the box office on 01723 818111.
