Have you ever seen seagulls dancing? Or an octopus sing? Here’s your chance as Under the Sea opens at the YMCA in Scarborough.

Based on the The Little Mermaid, Twilight Productions will performing the musical show for two days next mo nth.

It features Ariel, Sebastian, King Triton, Ursula, Flounder and a whole host of underwater characters.

“The colourful characters will be dressed in fantastic costumes, and their underwater world will be brought to life with superb lighting, toe-tapping dancing, sing-along songs and lots of laughs,” said David Nicholson who runs Twilight with his wife Kerry and Jodi Hatton.

“This show has everything! With all the songs you’d expect to sing along with such as Under the Sea, Kiss the Girl and Part of that World plus a few surprise songs to make the show totally unique,” he said.

The story follows the young mermaid princess Ariel as she dreams of a life above the waves after falling in love with Prince Eric.

The wicked sea-witch Ursula offers Ariel a way to be on land, but her freedom will come at a price.

Aided by her friends Flounder the fish and Sebastian the crab, Ariel sets off for the surface despite her father King Triton forbidding it.

Under the Sea is at the YMCA, St Thomas Street, on Sarurday May 3 at 7.30pm and Sunday May 4 at 2pm. Box office on 01723 506750.
