Hoping to cast a spell are members of Julie Hatton School of Performing Arts with their latest show which opens later this month.
Pantomime The Wicked Tales of Oz is their own take on the Wizard of Oz incorporating themes from the hit stage show Wicked.
It has all the traditional characters from the Wizard of Oz – Dorothy, the Scarecrow, the Tin-Man and the Cowardly Lion and shows how they came to be who they are.
It also includes familiar faces from Wicked and adds the comedic twist, energetic dance routines, dazzling costumes and impressive vocals that have become Hatton’s trademark.
The cast features actors from recent productions including Stuart Metcalfe, Neil Corcoran and Layla Dale and a main role for Paige Skilbeck who made her stage debut last November as Eponine in Les Miserables.
The cast are also delighted to welcome back Charlotte Buxton as Galinda. She starred in many of the school’s pantomimes before leaving for stage school.
She is now a professional singer and dancer.
The Wicked Tales of Oz is at the YMCA Theatre, St Thomas Street, Scarborough, on Friday January 24 and Saturday January 25 at 7.30pm and Sunday January 26 at 2pm.
