Top trombonist heads to Cask

The popular trombonist Kevin Holbrough appears as guest of Scarbrough Jazz at The Cask on Wednesday November 28.

As a much sought after freelance, Kevin plays with high-profile pop artistes such as the Bee Gees, Ronan Keating, Engelbert Humperdink and Martha Reeves.

Theatre shows Kevin has played in include Hairspray, The Rat Pack Live from Las Vegas and 42nd Street.

He has toured the UK and Europe in major venues, clubs and jazz fesivals, including The London Palladium, Glastonbury and The Royal Albert Hall.

The host of jazz stars Kevin has played with include, Phil Woods, Joe LaBarbera, Julian Joseph, Rob McConnell and Cleo Laine and John Dankworth.

Kevin is a member of the Andy Prior Big Band, the Steve Parry Big Band and is lead trombone with the Jamil Sheriff Big Band. He also plays in the Jamil Sheriff Octet and in Dennis Rollins’ Boneyard. Rollins said of Kevin: “He is one of a breed of British trombone players making waves on the jazz scene - check him out.”

Backing Kevin for this gig is The Mike Gordon Trio. The music starts at 8.45pm and admission is £3.
