25th Driffield Steam and Vintage Rally takes place this weekend
The annual Driffield Steam and Vintage Rally takes place at Driffield Showground on August 9 and 10.

Now in its 25th year, the rally provides entertainment for visitors of all ages and has raised thousands of pounds for local charities, including Yorkshire Cancer Research, Yorkshire Air Ambulance and the Driffield Old Folks’ Tea.
To celebrate this milestone, several of the exhibits from the very first event in 1990 will be appearing again and most sections will include something special in their line-ups
For example, the old time fair will include the Hurricane Jets ride built in 1955, which is the only aerial ride in which each rider can control the height of their own jet plane.
The usual attractions, of course, will include large steam engines, from workaday steam rollers to the magnificent Showman’s engines with their ornate decoration. There’ll also be around 200 tractors, vintage cars, caravans, commercials, military vehicles - as well as model and craft exhibitions and a large market.
