North Yorkshire’s talented artists set for major showcase in heart of National Park

Paintings, sculpture, ceramics and more will be on display at a celebratory showcase of North Yorkshire artistic talent right in the heart of the region’s North York Moors National Park this February.

Hundreds of artists from across the county will be displaying their work at Inspired By… gallery, inside Danby Lodge National Park Centre, in an exhibition organised by North Yorkshire Open Studios (NYOS).

As well as giving visitors the chance to see stunning art works in a tranquil, countryside setting, it will be a teaser of what to expect during NYOS’ upcoming Summer Open Studios weekends (June 6-7 and 13-14 ), when more than 200 artists across 3,000 square miles will welcome the public into their creative spaces.

The North Yorkshire Open Studios Spring Showcase runs from Saturday February 14 to Sunday May 10.

Garth Bayley, Project Manager at NYOS, said: “This exhibition is a vibrant celebration of the sheer breadth of talent we have here in North Yorkshire.

“By bringing together the work of hundreds of our members in the heart of the National Park, we’re offering a unique window into the county’s creative soul. It’s the perfect setting to stop and appreciate the work of the incredible artists who make our community so special.”

Rhian Roberts, Engagement Officer (Arts and Culture) at North York Moors National Park, said: “We are so excited to host North Yorkshire Open Studios for their biggest showcase exhibition yet.

“From painters to ceramicists to printmakers, this exhibition proves that North Yorkshire is bursting with creativity down every country lane and town street.

“So many of the participating artists are influenced by the natural environment around the Inspired by… gallery, so having the spring showcase here in 2026 feels integral to North Yorkshire’s cultural heritage."

The Spring Showcase is just the first event of NYOS’ packed programme for 2026, which also includes NYOS Summer Open Studios over two weekends in June and NYOS Winter Open Studios on the weekend of November 7-8.

Mr Bayley said: “NYOS is dedicated to championing the exceptional artistic richness of our region. Our 2026 program features members selected by an independent panel of curators, providing an unmissable opportunity to celebrate and acquire high-quality work created right here in North Yorkshire.”
