Crowdfunding bid to support movie filmed in East Yorkshire
Just Be Productions, an East Yorkshire-based creative team, is creating a short movie using various local sites as key locations.
Is Anybody There…? is described as ‘a proof of concept’ for a feature film or TV series.
The film is set in the East Riding, showcasing stunning locations including in the Bridlington area, and draws heavily on the region’s wealth of ‘truly outstanding professional talent for its cast, crew, and post-production’.
The company is currently crowdfunding for the movie – a psychological horror rooted in truth, fear, and the unseen battles many may quietly face.
Just Be Productions’ GoFundMe campaign is looking to raise £35,000 to fund production, locations, and post-production.
A spokesperson said: “We’d love our backers to become part of our creative, film-making family. Depending on your level of support, you’ll receive: A private streaming link to the finished film; an invitation to the premiere screening; and a digital copy of the short film script.
“Your support will directly fund: a professional cast, crew, and equipment hire; locations, set design, and atmospheric cinematography; post-production (editing, sound design, VFX, score) and film festival submissions and marketing.”
The project draws together a team of exceptional local talent, including RTS award-winning cinematographer, Chris Ramage, sound designer Howard Young (Disney, Netflix, NASA) and BAFTA-winner and Oscar nominated David Stoten (Corpse Bride, Paddington).
The spokesperson added: “The movie is a ‘stand-alone’ short that will be entered into National and International Film Festivals, but also serves as a ‘proof of concept’ for our original, full-length feature film script that it is based on.
“It follows Grace Williamson, whose reality begins to unravel through strange and menacing occurrences surrounding her partner, Charles.
“Isolated and upside down with happenings, she’s forced to confront the deepest, darkest fears of her life.”
