‘I’m knocked out by it,’ said festival director Mike Gordon. “Kyle brought his band to the 2009 festival and was an enormous success and his new CD, The View From Here, demonstrates he has just got better and better.

“It’s really dynamic, bursting with powerful grooves and innovative melodies. It reveals him as a musician of his time, a great band leader, a virtuoso on his instrument and an exceptional composer, particularly for his father Clint’s film scores.”

When he is not on tour, Kyle spends much of his time between Paris and Los Angeles but he has chosen for his regular band some of the finest British jazz musicians: pianist Andrew McCormack, saxophonist Graeme Blevins, trumpeter Graham Flowers, and drummer Martyn Kaine.

Music from the album The View From Here will feature in his festival session.
